Most people love to cool off during the summer days with ice cubes in your favorite beverage. However, refreshing ice cubes hide terrible reasons why you should avoid them despite the cooling effect.
The ice machines are known to have mold on them. This problem occurs because the ice maker machine is opened and closed many times, and this causes for few drops to drop in the process and create wet areas, which leads to moldiness if the areas are not clean regularly. Further, the temperature in the regular ice making machine is not enough to kill the bacteria from the mold, and if it is not cleaned regularly it easily contaminates the ice cubes that end up in your drinks.
Many people don’t take proper care of the machines that produce ice, and as well as their hands when they touch the ice or when they transfer it from the machine to a bag or a drink. The same way you wash your hands before eating a meal, you should wash your hands before touching the ice cubes. Unclean hands lead to bacteria transferring to the cubes and later into your body through the drinks or the food that has come into contact with the cubes.
Caution and at home
The same is true for the apartment, if you are using plastic containers for ice cubes. If you touch them or get dirty hands, you risk possible microbes and bacteria to transfer them and on the ice. If you want to reduce the possibility of contamination, it is better to use the bags for ice and when removing the ice, always wash your hands thoroughly.
When you make yourself an ice bucket ice wash after each use, and dry thoroughly to reduce the risk of infection.
A major problem may be poor hygiene in restaurants. Research has shown that, apart from coli form bacteria, cubed ice frequently found bacteria of Escherichia coli, Helicobacter pylori and Listeria monocytogenes.
Moisture is a breeding area for bacteria. It is very important that the temperature the ice machine is appropriate. Hygiene is always comes first.
A normal immune system can handle and contamination, but the danger is threatening if due to bad hygiene across the ice spread out some more dangerous viruses or when it comes to the person with impaired immunity.
