If you are one of the western persons, then you should know that you have been pooping the wrong way your entire life. Continue with reading and find out which is the correct way. First of all it is important to mention that the posture matters.
Namely, as the scientists from the Pelvic Floor Clinic at Stanford University explain, our bodies are created in a way that makes it more natural for it to squat while pooping, instead of sitting. In fact, sitting causes hernias, inflammatory bowel disease, colon cancer, diverticulosis and hemorrhoids due to improper strain that is imparted by it.
In a study conducted in 2003, the researchers divided random subjects into three groups, where each group got different position and then the researchers studied the outcomes of their bathroom experiences.
Namely, the first group was sat on a lower toilet, the second group sat on a higher toilet while the third group squatted.
While people stand, the colon is strapped against the puborectalis muscles but squatting allows those muscles to fully relax, which provides the most natural position for pooping.
It is important to mention that this theory is confirmed by the standard medical text, Bockus’s Gastroenterology, from 1964. It says that the squatting position actually is the perfect posture for defecation and the thighs need to be fixed upon your abdomen.
In case if you are interested in changing the bathroom routine, there’s a product that can help you do so with ease.
The squatty potty works like a stool around your toilet and it is created to allow you to obtain the perfect squatting position for a great poop!
